Test condition: 6 m straight aluminium arm, 24 V DC brushless drive, 20 °C ambient, 100 % duty cycle, no cooling pause. Result: 1.5 s opening and 1.8 s closing sustained for 3,000 consecutive cycles. Result: zero dust ingress and no water in the control compartment; temperature range verified from −30 °C to +70 °C. Benchmark: many imported barriers that quote “weatherproof” are only IP44 rated, which is not sufficient for exposed UK coastal or roadside sites.
